NeuroDiversity Consulting LLC offers training and informational seminars covering a variety of topics. These include: introduction to the concept of neurodiversity, safety modifications and strategies for individuals prone to elopement (wandering), sensory modifications and strategies, basic behavioral analysis strategies for special needs individuals, understanding and utilizing autistic culture, stress management for caregivers and special needs individuals, and accessing government services for special needs individuals. These seminars can be tailored to the needs of the target audience.

Topics

• Autism and The Brain. Current awareness of autism doesn’t seem to include enough awareness of what may be going on inside of the autistic individual. All we seem to be aware of is how their behavior impacts us in our neurotypical bubble. This presentation takes a look at what we know about the human brain to help build understanding of autistic individuals.
• Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: Neurodiversity in a Christian context. This talk introduces the concept of neurodiversity, the secular concept that autism and related conditions are a variation of human neurology rather than a disease, to Christian audiences in the context of Psalm 139: 13-16.

• Parenting Autism: Parenting journey and parent and autistic advocacy. This presentation discusses how autism impacts the parenting experiences of a neurotypical parent helping them to be more aware of themselves as they seek to parent their autistic child into adulthood. Also discussed is the relationship between parenting and advocacy.
• Neurodiversity: What, who, why? An introduction to the neurodiversity movement for secular audiences.

Home Safety Assessment and Modification Consultation
NeuroDiversity Consulting LLC’s Home Safety Assessment and Modification Consultation service offers practical advice to families on modifying the home environment to meet the safety needs of individuals who are prone to elopement (wandering).  We also facilitate working with neighbors, school staff, and local law enforcement to keep their loved ones safe. We will also work with families to identify and manage factors that may lead to elopement.

Home Sensory Assessment and Modification Consultation
NeuroDiversity Consulting LLC’s Home Sensory Assessment and Modification Consultation service offers practical advice to families on modifying the home environment to meet the sensory needs of individuals who have difficulty with sensory integration. Our staff can offer recommendations on modifications and strategies that can be implemented at home and in other environments to help special needs individuals be more comfortable and successful in their endeavors.
