Chief Operating Officer for NeuroDiversity Consulting
Jennifer, a social worker focused on the neurodivergent community, is committed to helping everyone learn how to work with their needs and to learn accommodations and advocacy. Her work focuses on identifying negative thinking patterns in both clients and their families and on building self-trust and respect. Clients are encouraged to recognize their strengths through her strength-based therapies and neurodivergent-affirming therapies. Jennifer utilizes therapy models based on a client’s preference rather than those previously used. She believes in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. Jennifer is also the COO of the agency, and when not with clients or designing programs, can be found with her family playing video games or creative tabletop RPGs. Jennifer enjoys creative art forms such as jewelry making and music as well as gaming. She has linked therapeutic value to the arts, and encourages it in the agency. She brings an interdisciplinary background in education, vocational support, disability advocacy, direct support, tutoring, and social-work-informed systems navigation. She is also semi-fluent in ASL. As an autistic, queer, disabled professional, Liza combines professional knowledge with lived experience. Her focus is on creating practical services that help disabled people and their families understand their options, identify meaningful goals, build useful tools, and navigate systems without losing sight of the client’s voice, identity, dignity, and right to direct their own life
Locke Risius, LMSW,
Clinician
Locke, a somatic therapist focused on treating complex post-traumatic stress disorder and moral injury, is eager to support you in discovering the lifestyle and therapeutic approaches that best fit you. He speaks fluent English and Mandarin (albeit with limited Chinese literacy), and intermediate German. His work focuses on living a life in accordance with one's own values rather than those society imposes. He utilizes many therapeutic approaches (including existential and “geek therapy”) and is more than willing to look into approaches that you might find helpful. He strongly believes in a collaborative rather than hierarchical approach with clients and values their informed consent. Many have given him the feedback that this thoughtful treatment was what led to the therapeutic rapport which resulted in often unexpectedly fast positive outcomes. When not with clients, Locke is often invested in researching psychology, philosophy, and restorative justice. Other than that, he's been slowly transitioning gender. Don't be too surprised if he suddenly sprouts a beard halfway through your sessions! If you’re interested in scheduling a consultation with him, please reach out: [email protected]
